The final approvals for exchange-traded funds (ETFs) trading Ethereum's ether (ETH) should be finished this summer, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler told senators in a budget hearing on Thursday. The SEC is approving a group of ETFs, allowing them to be listed and opening wider markets to easy-to-trade funds holding actual ether. The final registration requirements, known as S-1s, are being handled at the "staff level." The SEC initially blocked bitcoin ETFs, but has since allowed them.
