Investor Michael Burry of 'Big Short' fame has closed bets against S&P 500, Nasdaq

Michael Burry, a hedge fund manager, has closed out "put" positions on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 indexes, including semiconductors, as of the end of September. These bearish bets totaled over $1.6 billion, with the indexes falling 3.6% and 3%, respectively, during the third quarter. Burry's hedge fund, Scion Capital, was known for shorting subprime mortgages during the 2008 financial crisis.
