Old Street Digital, a London-based crypto asset manager founded by investment veterans from traditional finance, is struggling to secure the kind of institutional capital it needs to grow. The firm currently manages less than $10 million in assets, which pales in comparison to the $30 billion managed by Old Street's Chief Investment Officer Gary Clarke during his time at BlackRock. In an effort to raise external funds, Old Street has enlisted perFORM Due Diligence to review its operations and trading functions. Despite brand name investors and a core team accustomed to managing over $1 billion, securing limited partner capital remains a challenge for Old Street. The firm's core strategy targets an 8-15% annual return through stablecoin investments across DeFi protocols. Despite a gross annualized return of 11.7% since Q4 2022, limited partner capital remains elusive.
