Twitter’s recent policy changes to its identity verification model have resulted in numerous crypto leaders losing their “blue checkmark” status. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, Tezos co-creator Kathleen Breitman, Shapeshift founder Erik Vorhees, and former FTX CEO Sam-Bankman Fried are among those who have reportedly lost the blue checkmark. Jack Dorsey, the head of Block Inc., and FOX Business cryptocurrency reporter Eleanor Terrett were also affected. Twitter recently began providing blue checkmarks to paying subscribers, resulting in the loss of blue checkmarks for many high-profile figures. However, several other crypto leaders, such as Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, Kraken CEO Jesse Powell, and Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin still maintain their blue check marks.
