XRP ETF Fake News Leads to Over $6M Liquidations

After BlackRock was implied to have applied for an XRP ETF in a post on X (formerly Twitter), the original statement was quickly corrected. According to Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchumas, who claimed to have confirmed the information with Blackrock, the news was fraudulent.

Coinglass data shows a sell-off in response to the news, with XRP's 24-hour liquidation volume at $6.91 million. This comes after BlackRock filed for the iShares Ethereum Trust in Delaware, which has seen Ethereum's price surge to $2,064. BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF application is currently under scrutiny by the SEC.
